How to use Urdu keyboard?

  1. Download and install Urdu font by visiting our fonts page.
  2. Download Urdu keyboard from this page by following steps below:
    1. Click on the keyboard image you want to download.
    2. Right click on the image.
    3. Click on “Save image as ... “ option from the dropdown menu.
  3. Open text editor such as word document and select the fonts you have installed earlier.
  4. Open the Urdu keyboard image and use it as a reference to type Urdu on the word document.

If you don’t have big or multiple screen, we recommend printing the keyboard and use it as a reference for typing Urdu. All our keyboard are of high quality.

Yes. Our keyboard is 1280px by 659px. This size is ideal for printing and it is available in different colours. However, If you prefer it in different sizes or in different color we can do it for a small fee. Please drop a message on our Facebook page.


How can I get Urdu keyboard in different font mapping?

Above keyboard use Urdu font mapping. If you require Urdu keyboard in other fonts mapping (For E.g. Pak Nastaleeq), then we can do it for a small fee. Please drop a message on our Facebook page.


How can I use Urdu keyboard in WhatsApp on Mobile Devices?

To configure your keyboard in Urdu, follow the steps below:

  1. Open your phone's "Settings" app.

  2. Go to Languages & input.

  3. Under "Keyboard and Input" methods, select Urdu keyboard as your choice.


What are other alternatives of typing in Urdu?

Typing Urdu using keyboard can be hard as you have to memorize all the fonts mapping and you need lots of practise to be fluent.

It is even worse on mobile device as you cannot install specific font and also there are no keyboard with any other font mappings.

Thankfully, there are other easier ways of typing Urdu.

  1. We recommend English to Urdu Typing.

    On this website you can easily type in Urdu using Roman (English) keyboard layout.

    For E.g if you type "Aapka naam kia hai?" it will be transliterated into "آپ کا نام کیا ہے؟".

    So, typing Urdu is as natural as you spell it in English. With this you don’t need to remember font layout or practice Urdu typing for several weeks. Just ensure the browser supports unicode. After typing, you can copy and paste the text anywhere - including, Gmail, Facebook, Twitter and Word documents.

  2. If you prefer translation you can easily translate any English word, sentence or phrase into Urdu by visiting English to Urdu translation page.
